What is a Pitch Letter?
I’m trying to find the easiest way to explain what this thing is all about, because I do tend to over-complicate when it comes to explaining. Well, not that it’s ‘complicated’, it’s just that I easily get distracted and over-shared⎯see, what I mean? I’ve not even started the explanation part yet and the paragraph is already this long.
Anyway, I first did it with Celsius Coffee; at least for the name.
It’s my version of what people normally called Cover Letter.
It came from the crazy part of my Creative brain where I tend to think of ways to do things differently. But, since my early days, I’ve already did a lot of things differently. Specifically in this case; is how I applied for jobs. If I’m being honest, it has not always given me a positive outcome. If my memories serves me right, only a couple of times that my way of doing things output a positive outcome.
So first, this is my email to Celsius Coffee; mansplaining.
Salam Celsius Coffee brewers,
Thank you again for reaching out and inviting me to explore this opportunity.
For so long, as a Creative, I’ve always done things rather differently. And most of the time, people don’t get it immediately, but it’s OK.
But that does not mean I’m changing the way I do things. Hence, please find attached what I call a Pitch Application for the position of Creative at Celsius Coffee. My application begins with, instead of the usual cover letter, I’ve put together a Pitch Letter; a more personal take on who I am, what I believe in, and how I approach creativity.
Please find attached the Pitch Letter, my resume and portfolio for your review.
I’m excited about the possibility of bringing my creative skills to Celsius Coffee and if it resonates, let’s brew something together.
