After eight years at INVOKE, I decided it was time to move on.
My last day in office was on 31 December 2024.
It was a bittersweet feeling.
Nothing can prepare me for that moment because I’ve always thought INVOKE was my last place for a career. Probably even retired there. But as they say, plans can only stay as planned. Nothing can ever be sure it becomes a reality.
So, I’ve been “unemployed” for the last couple of months, planning (again) things for the future. Studio HDJ is the future, but for things to become a reality, sometimes you need to do something, which is a slight detour.
So I took a job at Gading Marine as a Commercial for Marketing and survived my first week there. Looking forward for more to come.
But honestly, it was a little bit weird. Because one, I am forever a Creative. I would never associate or describe myself as a Marketer. Part of what I do is related to Marketing, but to say that I’m a Marketer is far apart. But it is also a good time for me to learn something new. Two, Gading Marine is a totally new industry. The comparison for whatever I’ve done for the last 15 years is nothing close to what Gading Marine as an industry is. For some reason, the skills that I have is something that can be consider alien to them. Again, it’s a good time for me to try something new though alien. I’m eager to bring whatever I can to the organization.
So, here’s to a new start for 2025.
